Solution

The correct option is C 20
No. of moles of H2, the balloon can contain is 0.3165 mol
Cylinder is at 300 K and 20 atm.
No. of moles of H2 in the cylinder =20 atm×8.21 L0.0821 L.atm K1 mol1×300 K
= 6.66 mol
While filling the last balloon, when the pressure of the cylinder will drop to 1 atm, gas cannot be withdrawn.
Now, no. of moles of H2 remaining in the cylinder unused
=1 atm×8.21 L0.0821 L.atm K1 mol1×300 K=0.33 mol
No. of balloons that can be filled
=no. of moles of H2 in the cylinder that can be usedno. of moles of H2 one balloon can contain
=6.660.330.3165=20
