Part (a): Preparation of sprouting moong daal:

  1. At first the moong dal is dipped in water overnight for a long period.
  2. Moong dal is taken out of the water the next day and wrapped in a cotton cloth to soak out excess water.
  3. On the third day, sprouting starts from moong daal which is edible and nutritious.

Part (b): Sprouting:

  1. The process of sprouting is based on the process of seed germination.
  2. The controlled environment is provided for germination of moong daal which helps with sprouting.

Part (c): Benefits of sprouting:

  1. Sprouting increases the bioavailability of nutrients present in moong daal.
  2. The dietary proteins, minerals and starch present in the seed becomes more available and helps with the absorption of nutrients.
