The correct option is B 18
Intial perimeter of the rectangle -
= length + breadth + length + breadth
= 2 x length + 2 x breadth

Final perimeter of the figure -

= length + breadth + length + breadth
= 2 x length + 2 x breadth

So, we see that the initial and final perimeter of the figure are the same.
Therefore, new perimeter = 18 cm.
