Find the missing frequencies x and y, if the mode of the data is given to be 44.

Mode of the given data is 44
Number of periods is 100
7+x+13+15+y+10+14+8=100
x+y=33
So,the modal class is 4050
L (the modal class lower limit) =40
f1(frequency of the modal class) =y
f0(frequency of the preceding modal class) =15
f2(frequency of the succeeding modal class) =10
h(class size) =10
Mode =L+(f1f02f1f0f2)×h
40+(y152y1510)×10=44
10y1502y25=4
10y150=8y100
2y=50
y=25
x+y=33
x+25=33
x=8
Hence x=8 and y=25
