Capacity of the tank = 82 qt

Water available in the tank = 12 gal

Let's convert gallons to quarts.

We know that,
1 gallon = 4 quarts


So,
12 gal = 12 × 4 qt =2 qt

Hence, out of 82 qt capacity of the tank, 2 qt was already filled.

Now we have to find the remaining amount of water to be filled in the tank.

Amount of water to be filled = Total capacity - water available

82 qt - 2 qt = 80 qt

Thus, 80 qt of water is required to be filled in the tank.
