A theatre is to be constructed in which each row must have 40 seats. If the required seating capacity of the theatre is 960, find the number of the rows in the theatre?

Number of seats in each row is 40.

Total seating capacity of the room is 960.

We know

Total number of rows × Number of seats in each row = Total seating capacity of the room

Hence,

Total number of rows = Total seating capacity of the room ÷ Number of seats in each row

Total number of rows

=960÷40=24

Hence, total number of rows are 24.
