A train engine is attached with 10 carriages. The length of each carriage is 10 m and the length of the engine is 30 m. The train is running at a speed of 108 km/h. The driver is at the front of the engine as he is driving the train. The guard is sitting at the front of the last carriage. The driver passed a post. After how many more seconds will the guard pass the post?

Distance between the driver and the guard = length of the engine + sum of lengths of 9 carriages = (30 + 9 × 10) m = 210 m

Speed of the train = 108 km/h = 108 × 5/18 m/s = 30 m/s

So, time taken = 210/30 = 7 seconds

Hence, 7 is the correct answer.
