Question

A train of length 50m is moving with a constant speed of 10m/s. Calculate the time taken by the train to cross an electric pole and a bridge of length 250m.

Open in App
Solution

Given that,

Length of train l=50m

Speed v=10m/s

Length of bridge l2=250m

Now, total distance is

D=50+250

D=300m

Now, time

v=Dt

t=Dv

t=30010

t=30s

Now, to cross the bridge pole

Distance is

D=25050

D=200m

Now, the time taken to cross pole is

V=Dt

t=Dv

t=20010

t=20s

Hence, the time is 30 s and 20 s
