A transformer converts $200 V$ a.c. to $50 V$ a.c.The secondary has $50 t u r n s$ and load across it draws $300 m A$ current.Calculate the current in the primary:

Now the principle of transformers is -
$\frac{V_{P}}{V_{S}} = \frac{N_{P}}{N_{S}} = \frac{I_{S}}{I_{P}}$
or, $\frac{200}{50} = \frac{N_{P}}{50}$
or, $N_{P} = 200$
Now,
$\frac{200}{50} = \frac{300}{I_{P}}$
or, $I_{P} = \frac{300 \times 50}{200} = 75 m A$
