Height of the tent = 12 ft.
Diagonal length = 15 ft.
$∴$ Base length = $2 \times \sqrt{15^{2} - 12^{2}} = 2 \times \sqrt{225 - 144} = 2 \times \sqrt{81} = 2 \times 9 = 18 f t .$
