A truck and a car, both moving with a velocity of magnitude v, have a head-on collision and both of them come to a halt after that. Which vehicle experiences the greater change in momentum?
Both experience the same change in momentum
Final momentum of both the vehicles is zero and initial velocity of both the vehicles is same. Law of conservastion of momentum is applicable to all colliding bodies. Since momentum depends on mass and velocity and velocity change is same in both. Hence, mass will also be the same.
