The radius of the Earth R=6.4×106m

Step 2. Find the population covered:

If dis the distance up to which the transmission can be received then,

d=2hR

Then total area covered =πd2

=2πhR

Now the population covered is given by

=10-3×2πhR

=10-3×2×3.14×150×6.4×106

=60.288lakh
