Open in App
Solution

We should find how many stones of dimension 6 dm by 5dm will fit in the verandah having dimension 50m by 12m

To remember :

1m = 10 dm

Solution :

Lenght of a verandah = 50 m = 500 dm

breadht of a verandah= 12m = 120 dm

area of verandah= 500 x 120 = 60000 dm2

lenght of a stone = 6 dm

breadht of a stone = 5 dm

area of stone = 6x5 = 30 dm2

total stones need to pave = area of verandah / area of stone

= 60000/30

=2000 stones

thus, the answere = 2000 stones
