A vertical pole of length 6 m casts a shadow 4 m long on the ground. At the same time, a tower casts a shadow 28 m long .
Find the height of the tower.

AB = 6 m , BC = 4 m and YZ = 28 m

To find :XY


In ABC andXYZ,ABCXYZ (90° each)The angle of elevation for the person standing at C and for the person standing at Z would be the same. ACBXZY Therefore, by the AA similarity test, ABC ~XYZBy the property of similarity, ABXY=BCYZ6XY=428XY=28×64=42 m
Hence , the height of the tower is 42 m.
