Solution

The correct option is D 2.4 atm
PN2+PH2O=1atm

PH2O=0.3atm

PN2 = 0.7 atm in 1st vessel.

Now new pressure of N2 in another vessel may be calculated as
P1V1=P2V2

0.7×V1=P2×V13atm
PN2 = 2.1 atm

PH2O=0.3atm

PT=2.1+0.3=2.4 atm

PH2O remains constant at constant temperature
