A village has a population of 4000, requires 150 litres water per head per day. It has a tank measuring 20 m, 15 m, and 6 m. How many days for the water is sufficient enough once the tank is made full?

Volume of the tank =l×b×h
=20 m×15 m×6 m
=1800 m3 [1 m3=1000 litres]

So, volume of tank =1800000 litres

[1.5 marks]

Volume of water consumed by 1 person in 1 day =150 litre

Total volume of water consumed in a day by total population =150×4000

[0.5 mark]

Required number of days =Volume of tanktotal volume of water consumed in 1 day =1800000150×4000= 3 days
