An outlet pipe can empty $3$ Kilolitres $500$ litres of water in $1$hour from the tank. If both the pipes were kept open simultaneously, when the tank is empty, will the tank be filled? If yes, how much water will be filled in one hour? How long will it take to fill the tank?

Subtraction of decimals

Capacity of the water tank $=30$ Kilolitres

Capacity of the inlet pipe to fill water in the tank $=6$Kilolitres $25$litres $=6.025$ kl

Capacity of the outlet pipe to empty water in the tank$=$$3$kilolitres $500$ litres $=$$3.500$kl

Yes when both the pipes were open simultaneously then the tank will be filled..

Therefore capacity of water to be filled in the tank in one hour $=6.025-3.500=2.525$ kl or $2$kl $525$ l

Time taken to fill the tank $=30÷2.525=11$hours $52$ minutes and $53$ seconds
