Solution

Subtraction of decimals

Capacity of the water tank =30 Kilolitres

Capacity of the inlet pipe to fill water in the tank =6Kilolitres 25litres =6.025 kl

Capacity of the outlet pipe to empty water in the tank=3kilolitres 500 litres =3.500kl

Yes when both the pipes were open simultaneously then the tank will be filled..

Therefore capacity of water to be filled in the tank in one hour =6.025-3.500=2.525 kl or 2kl 525 l

Time taken to fill the tank =30÷2.525=11hours 52 minutes and 53 seconds
