Solution

The correct option is A 144
Total water filtered in a day

= 24×3600×1

=86400 m3/day

Total surface area of filter required

=86400 m3/day120m3/day/m2=720 m2

Area of one filter = 6×10=60 m2

Total no. of filter = 72060=12 filters

If two filters are out of service no. of filters remain 12-2 = 10 filters

Total surface area of filter = 60×10=600 m2

The new loading rate= 86400m3/day600 m2
=144 m3/day/m2
