Comparing the given wave equation with
y(x,t)=Acos(ωt+π/2)cos(x), we get
kx=10πx
k=10π
Nodes are at kx=π/2,3π/2 etc. (see figure).
Hence, node position, x=π/2k=π/210π=0.05 m
Antinodes are at kx=0,π,2π etc. (see figure).
Hence, anti-node position x=πk=π10π=0.1 m
Again, k=2πλ
λ=0.2 m
Comparing the wave equations, we get
ω=50π
Wave speed v=ωk=50π10π=5 m/s
