If the worker worked overtime for $x$ hours, then he did normal work for $40-x$ hours.
His pay for the week $=$ Rs. $2(40-x)+4x=$ Rs. $2(40+x)$
Given, $2(40+x)=116$
$\Rightarrow 40+x=58$
$\Rightarrow x=18$
This means, he did normal work for $40-18=22$ hours.
