Solution

A. (i) Cu(s)+4HNO3(aq)Cu(NO3)2(aq)+2H2O(l)+2NO2()
(ii) NaHCO3(s)+HCl(aq)NaCl(aq)+H2O(l)+CO2()
(iii) Na2S(s)+H2SO4(aq)Na2SO4(aq)+H2S(g)

(B) (i) Blue vitriol is blue in color because it includes 5 molecules of water of crystallization (CuSO45H2O).When heated, it loses the water of crystallization and transforms into anhydrous CuSO4 that is grey-white in color. Thus, there is a change in color from blue to white.

CuSO45H2OheatCuSO4+5H2O
(Blue in color) (Grey-white in color)

(ii) As iron chloride is highly deliquescent in nature, so to keep it dry fused calcium chloride is used.
