Write the fractions appropriately as additions or subtractions:
To find out the fraction a given figure represents we follow the steps given below:
(i) Identify the number of equal parts in which the figure is divided
(ii) Number of parts that are coloured or shaded
The fraction that they represent = Number of parts colouredTotal number of equal parts
Hence, the above figures represent the fractions 15, 25 and 35 respectively.
Now, 35 > 15, 25.
Therefore the fractions 15 and 25 will be added.
15+25=1+25=35
