Write the fractions. Are all these fractions equivalent?

In the given figure, to find the fractions(colored part) representation is done in the following way:

(i) Count the number of equal parts in which the figure is divided.

(ii) Count the number of coloured parts.

(iii) Fraction (the shaded part) represents =

$\frac{\text{Number of equal parts coloured}}{\text{Total number of parts in which the figure is equally divided}}$

$\therefore$The fractions shown in the diagrams are $\frac{1}{2},\frac{2}{4},\frac{3}{6},\frac{4}{8}$ respectively.

Now, $\frac{2}{4}=\frac{1}{2},\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2},\frac{4}{8}=\frac{1}{2}$

$\Rightarrow$ All of these fractions are equivalent. ($\because$ They represent the same part of a whole)
