A young cousin of yours had come for dinner at your place. He usually had only one roti whereas your capacity is four rotis. Assume that the rotis are perfectly circular with radius 4 cm and this time your cousin wanted to eat as many rotis as you did, What would be the new size of the rotis that your mom will have to make?
2 cm
One roti's area = π(4)2=16π cm2
Cousin's capacity is 1 roti = area of 1 roti = 16π cm2
So area of one roti has to be divided in 4 small rotis i.e. (16π/4)=4π cm2
So the new radius, r is
πr2=4π
r=2 cm
