Equivalent resistance between A,E is 1+x2+x

For B,E to be equipotential it has to be a balanced wheatstone bridge
RABRAE=RBCRCE
11+x2+x=11x

2+x1+x=11x
(2+x)(1x)=1+x
22x+xx2=1+x
x2+2x1=0
(x+1)2=2
x=21

CEED=1xx=(22)(21)

CEED=(22)(2+1)(21)(2+1)=22+2221
