Solution

The correct option is A

Current will increase by increasing voltage in circuit

Ohm's law:

  1. It is the most significant law of the electric circuit and provides the relation between the current flowing through the circuit and potential difference across it.
  2. According to this law, “The voltage across a conductor is directly proportional to the current flowing through it.” It can be expressed as VI. In this, the temperature remains constant.
  3. The potential difference in a circuit is the product of the resistance of that circuit and the current flowing through it. Mathematically it is expressed as, V=IR, where is V potential difference, I is current and R is resistance. Resistance here is the proportionality constant, as it is fixed for a given temperature.

Correct Option: Option A

On the basis of ohm's law, the current through a conductor is directly proportional to the electric potential difference across the conductor. So, the current will increase by increasing the voltage in the circuit.

Incorrect Options:

Option B

When voltage is increased, the current increases, whereas, the resistance remains constant for a given temperature. Hence, this option is incorrect.

Option C

When current is increased, the potential difference increases, whereas, the resistance remains constant for a given temperature. Hence, this option is incorrect.

Option D

When voltage is increased, the current increases, whereas, the resistance remains constant for a given temperature. Hence, this option is incorrect.

Hence, the correct option is (A).
