Solution

The correct option is D
When acetylene react with one mole of HBr it gives electrophilic addition product 1-Bromoethene.
The formed unsymmetrical alkene will react with another mole of HBr to give the product.
The addition of HBr to an unsymmetrical alkene obeys Markovnikov's rule.

Markovnikov's rule : Negative part of the addendum (adding molecule) gets attached to that doubly bonded C which posses lesser number of hydrogen atoms.

Here, Negative part of HBr i.e., Br get attached to the doubly bonded carbon which posses lesser number of hydrogen atoms to give major product.

CHCHHBr−−CH2=CHBrHBr−−−−−−−−−−−−Markovnikov additionCH3CHBr2
