Solution

The correct option is D Weismann

August Weismann, a German biologist, was the main opposer of the inheritance of acquired characters. He put forward the theory of continuity of germplasm, a theory of heredity. According to Weismann, only characters influencing germ cells are inherited.

Aristotle is considered the father of biology as he was the first person who classified living organisms on the basis of presence or absence of red colour in their blood.

T. H. Morgan is considered the father of Linkage as he identified cases where he found that genes placed closely could be considered as Linked genes and this process is called as Linkage. These linked genes don't get separated during the process of gamete formation.

Louis Pasteur performed the swan-necked flask experiment to disprove the theory of spontaneous generation.
