Addition of $x^{2} - y^{2} - 1, y^{2} - 1 - x^{2}$ , and $1 - x^{2} - y^{2} = x^{2} - y^{2} - 1 + y^{2} - 1 - x^{2} + 1 - x^{2} - y^{2}$
$= x^{2} - x^{2} - x^{2} - y^{2} + y^{2} - y^{2} - 1 - 1 + 1$
$= (1 - 1 - 1) x^{2} + (- 1 + 1 - 1) y^{2} - 1 - 1 + 1$
$= - x^{2} - y^{2} - 1$
