Advantages and disadvantages of growing rice in india

Advantage:
1. As rice is the staple food in most part of India, growing rice will meet the demands.
2. Growing rice cam also generates indirect employment like trucking, processing etc.

Disadvantage:
1. Growing same type of crop for a long duration will make the soil nutrient deficient because the respective crop uses the same nutrient from the soil, nitrogen or potassium, which makes the soil deficient in the minerals.
2. Rice needs extensive irrigation, so if a particular area is not irrigated properly, it may lead to loss of crops.
