(a) When soap / detergent is applied on plate which has layer of oil and left food particles, the yellow oily left over stains turn red/ orange. And this colour change occurs because of neutralization.
(b) Turmeric (yellow colour) change to red / orange due to the neutralization reaction. Edible oils are compounds of alcohol's and organic acids, which get neutralized by alkaline soap / detergent. This neutralized reaction is indicated by turmeric (yellow) which turn red.
