Solution

The correct option is D 1250 ml
2C2H2+5O24CO2+2H2O

2 moles of C2H2 react with 5 moles of O2

1 moles of C2H2=22400ml

100 ml of C2H2=10022400=4.46×103mole

2 moles of C2H2 react with 5 moles of O2

4.46×103 moles of C2H2 will react with 4.46×103×52 = 0.0112 moles of O2

0.0112×22400 = 250 ml of O2

Since air contains nearly 20% oxygen by volume.

The volume of air needed for complete combustion of 100 ml of acetylene =250×10020=1250ml.

Hence,option D is correct.
