Glyoxysomes are numerous in germinating oil seeds. Glyoxysomes are found in plants (particularly in the fat storage tissues of germinating seeds). Seeds that contain fats and oils include corn, soybean, sunflower, peanut and pumpkin.

Peroxisomes which are quite common in photosynthetic cells, contain enzymes that oxidize certain molecules normally found in the cell, notably fatty acids and amino acids.

RER or the ribosomes bound ER (rough ER) secrete and export proteins and a few hormones.

The ribosomes are non-membrane bound organelles made up of two sub-units - a larger and a smaller sub-unit. Prokaryotic ribosomes are the 70S ribosomes made up of the 50S sub-unit and the 30S sub-unit. The eukaryotic ribosome is of the 80S type and has a larger 60S sub-unit and a smaller 40S sub-unit. The 60S sub-unit is what gets attached to the ER in eukaryotes.
