An acid solution has pH 3. In general, neutral solution (pure water) has pH 7. Acid has pH less than 7 and base has pH more than 7. In other words, in neutral solution, hydrogen and hydroxide solutions are same. In acid solution, hydrogen ion concentration is greater than hydroxide ion concentration and in base solution, hydroxide ion concentration is greater than hydrogen ion concentration.
