Solution

Formula: 1.5 Marks
Solution: 1.5 Marks

The length of the aquarium = l = 50 cm

Width of the aquarium = b = 40 cm

Height of the aquarium = h = 30 cm

Area of the base
=l×b=50×40=2000 cm2

Area of the side face
=b×h=40×30=1200 cm2

Area of the back face
=l×h=50×30=1500 cm2

Required area = Area of the base + area of the back face + (2×area of a side face)

=2000+1500+(2×1200)=5900 cm2

Hence the area of the coloured paper required is 5900 cm2.
