An electric bulb is marked 220 W and 250 V. if the supply voltage drops to 180 V. calculate the light and heat energy produced in 10 minutes

P = V^2/R
If V = 250 V we have

220 W = 250^2/R
R = 250^2/220 Ω = 284.09Ω. This is the resistance of the bulb.

When V = 180 V, power consumed = V^2/R = 180^2/284.09= 114.04 W.

So energy is ( V^2/R)t = 114.0410*60 = 68424 J
