An electric heater has a resistance of 40 ohm and draws a current of 4 A.
Calculate (1) the power consumed by the heater (2) the potential difference applied at the ends of the heater.

The resistance of an electric heater is R=40Ω,
The Current drawn by heater I=4A

(i) Power consumed by heater

P=I2×RP=42×40P=640 W

(ii) Potential difference applied across the heater

V=I×RV=4×40 V=160 V
