Question

An electrician buys a used T.V. for ₹12,000 and a used Fridge for ₹11,000. After spending ₹500 on repairing the T.V. and ₹500 on painting the Fridge, he fixes the selling price of the T.V. as ₹13,000 and that of Fridge as ₹11,500. On this selling price, again if he gives ₹500 discount on each product, find his total profit or loss by selling both the products.

Price of tv =12000
Repairing cost =500
Cost price=(12000+500)=12500
Price of fridge =11000
Painting cost =500
Cost price =(11000+500)=11500
Total cost price of both the products =(12500+11500)=24000
Selling price of tv =13000
Selling price of fridge =11500
Discount =500 on each product
Total discount =1000
Total selling price of both the products =(13000+115001000)=23500
Loss = C.P - S.P =(2400023500)=500
