According to the conversation of momentum,

Pi=Pf

0=P1+P2+P3 ( Pi=0)

P1+P2=P3

the magnitude of P3 is equal to the magnitude of, the resultant of P1 and P2

Considering their magnitudes,

(P1)2+(P2)2=P3

(m1v1)2+(m2v2)2=m3v3

(1×12)2+(2×8)2=m(4)

m=5 kg
