Solution

The correct option is A

2720cm3s

Step1: Given data.

Cross-sectional area of a tube at point A, AA=40cm2

Cross-sectional area of a tube at point B, AB=20cm2

Change in pressure between point A and B,P=PA-PB=700Nm2

Density of water, ρ=1000kgm-3

Step2: Finding the volume flow rate.

We assume that , VA=volumeflowrateatAVB=volumeflowrateatB

From equation of continuity:

AAVA=ABVB

40VA=20VB

2VA=VB

VA=VB2

Again,

Using Bernoulli's equation:

PA+12ρVA2=PB+12ρVB2

PA-PB=12ρVB2-VA2

P=12ρVB2-VA2

P=12ρVB2-VB22

P=12ρVB2-VB24

700=12×1000×34VB2

VB=2815ms-1=2815×100cms-1

Now,

Volume flow rate=VB×AB

=2815×100×20

=2732cm3s-1

So, Answer comes nearly 2720cm3s

Hence, option A is correct.
