  1. Thermite is an intimate mixture of finely powdered Aluminium (Al) and Iron oxide (Fe2O3) that produces a very high temperature on combustion, which is used in welding and for incendiary bombs and is also used as solid fuels in rockets.
  2. Reaction would be:

Fe2O3(s)(Ferricoxide)+2Al(s)(Aluminiumpowder)2Fe(s)(Iron)+Al2O3(s)(Aluminiumoxide)+Heat

3. This reaction is used for thermite welding, to connect railway tracks and in metal refining.
