For a concave mirror,
R=−40cm;u=−10cm
Using mirror formula,
1v=1f−1u and f=R2
and substituting the given data we get,
1v=2R−1u=2(−40)−1(−10)=1−20+110
⇒1v=−10+20200=10200=120
⇒v=+20cm
Image is formed behind the mirror, so image formed is virtual in nature.
Magnification(m) from a concave mirror,
m=−vu=−20−10=+2
Since, the magnification is positive, image is erect and enlarged.
∴Image is formed at v=20cm is virtual , erect and enlarged.
