Question

An object placed on an equal arm balance requires 12 kg to balance it. When placed on a spring scale, the scale reads 12kg. Everything(balance,scale) is taken to moon. The new readings of balance and spring scale are respectively

Dear student
as we know that the weight on the moon become 1/6 of the weight on the earth.
so as 12 kg is balancing it .it means both the blocks are 12 kg in weight and the reading of the spring balance is 12kg.
so at moon it will become 1/6
= 126 = 2kg
reading shown by spring balance at moon = 2kg
