pv=nRT
p=nRTv=0.75×0.0821×30024.63=0.75 atm
1 atm=760 mmHg
0.75 atm=(760×0.75) mmHg=570 mmHg=57 cmHg
Again at T=450 K,
P=nRTV=0.75×0.0821×45024.63=855 mmHg=85.5 cmHg
Difference=(85.557) cm=28.5 cm
Initially, mercury is 14 cm lower.
The highest difference =28.5 cm14.0 cm=14.5 cm
