Solution
a. The value payable post (VPP) is a service offered by the Indian Postal Services. It is a system in which the person receiving the articles pays for the value of the articles only after receiving them. The things that can be transmitted through VPP are registered Parcels, registered letters, registered book packets and newspapers prepaid with postage, etc. However, the amount specified for remittance to the sender, in any case, should not exceed Rs.5,000.
b. The postal index number (PIN) is a six-digit code of Post office that is used by the Indian postal services. It was introduced on 15th August 1972. The first digit indicates the region, second the sub-region, third one indicates sorting district and the last three digits refer to the delivery post office.
