Microbes are used in to make many Industrial products-

1) Metabolite products- Yeast produces ethanol that is used as a solvent in various chemical processes.

2) Metal Leaching- Certain bacteria are used to leach metals such as iron from some soils and sediments.

3) Microbes such as Rhizobium are used as bio-fertilizers which consists of living inoculants that are added to the soil to improve soil fertility and plant growth.

4) Genetically engineered bacteria is used to produce insulin.
