Allotropy :

  • The phenomenon of existence of a chemical element in two or more forms differing in physical properties but having almost the same chemical nature is known as allotropy.
  • These different forms are called allotropes.
  • They possess different physical properties but similar chemical properties. Hence can be separated on the basis of physical properties easily.
  • Examples Diamond, Graphite, and Fullerene.
