A typical flower has four important parts: sepals, petals, stamens, and carpels. (i) The structure shown in the figure is of the stamen. Stamens form the third whorl, inner to petals. It is the male reproductive part of the flower. (ii) Each stamen has two parts, anther(A) and filament(B).
The filament is a thin, long slender part that carries the anther on top. (iii) Anther is a bilobed structure present at the tip of the filament. An anther stores pollen grains.
Pollen grains are dust-like, fine yellow particles released from the anthers (of stamens) of a flower on maturity.
