Archaebacteria are called as primitive prokaryotes. Why? Identity the names of any two archaebacteria based on environment they are found in.

Archaebacteria were the first prokaryotes that lived in extreme conditions. They were the first living organisms on earth. Prokaryotes lacks nucleus and membrane bound organelles. Archaebacteria showed resemblance with the characteristics of prokaryotes, therefore they are called primitive prokaryotes. The names of bacteria acording to the environment in which they are found-
1. Halophiles lives in extremely salty location as they are salt lovers. Eg. Halobacterium
2. Thermophiles are heat lovers and are found in extremely hot water springs. Eg- streptococcus thermophilus
