Basidiomycetes include bracket fungi and mushrooms that belong to the kingdom of Fungi.
Example: Agaricus, Puccinia.
Autotrophs are organisms that synthesize their own food from inorganic substances such as CO2, H2O, minerals, etc.
Example: plants, algae.
Basidiomycetes are not autotrophs. They are called heterotrophs since they depend on other organisms for deriving nutrition.
Some of them are parasites that live in the plant bodies, symbiotic basidiomycetes live in the roots of vascular plants, and saprophytes break down dead organic matter.
